The range of Slinky Cobalt strings benefits from the same level of requirement as the famous Slinky from the American firm, while offering a powerful sound and impeccable clarity.
Technology at the service of sound. The Slinky Cobalt range is the latest technological innovation from the American firm. Cobalt is known to produce a magnetic attraction that maximizes the output level while delivering a wider dynamic range, incredible harmonics, deep bass and crystal treble. In addition these strings offer a soft and silky touch which greatly facilitates bending.
Type: Cobalt Slinky Bass Draft: 45-65-85-105 Metal Type: Cobalt Who would have thought that there were things to invent in the making of bass strings? However, with Slinky Cobalt strings, Ernie Ball may once again upset everything. The main interest of Cobalt lies in its magnetic induction which is stronger than that of alloys based on iron or nickel. To find the right formula, more than 350 alloys were tested in partnership with artists such as Metalica, Slash, John Petrucci, Randy Jackson or Tony Levin. The result of this work has really exceeded the expectations of Ernie Ball engineers and artists. Whether on the playing sensations and the sound, the Cobalt strings bring a significant improvement. The output level is higher, the mids gain in clarity and definition, the harmonics are richer and the impact is sharper when playing the pick. How long have you not been surprised?
Packaging: Hermetic pouch The Ernie Ball string sets are packaged in an airtight pouch which ensures, when opened, strings as new as when they left the factory!
Note: Ernie Ball was the first to offer retail strings and since he set up the standards for guitar strings, the list of users has not stopped growing, including: Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai, Slash, Jeff Beck, Kirk Hammett, Steve Lukather, Keith Richards, Angus Young, John Petrucci, System of a Down, Deftones, Muse, Nine Inch Nails, Megadeth, Blink 182, Green Day, Iron Maiden, NOFX, March Volta, Sevendust, MGMT, Limp Bizkit and many others ...

Bought in November... Still on my bass... :)
I just bought a new set, I'm sharing my impressions on the ones I'm going to throw away: Bright sound (maybe a bit too much at the start), then after 6-7 hours of playing it's perfect ;). After 5 months, the sound started to become "flat" like 20 strings after 1 month. A fast-fret once a week and hop, it lasts another 3 months easily.
I'm changing them to switch to another gauge, but in terms of price/lifespan it's the best, although I've tested quite a few (dadario, fender, EB slinky, EB coated, Elexir long-lasting with coating that peels off...). They'll remain my favorites ;).

whaouu, compared to the strings I had before on my bass!! A much crisper sound, more present, more sustain, more presence... Well, it's an investment for sure, but according to the comments on durability, it's worth it!!

Perfect except for a sound a bit too metallic. It was a test, not disappointed though.
