Description

The Cajón was invented in Peru in the 18th century by African slaves who were using fruit or fish cases as substitutes for the African drums. The cajón next moved up to Cuba, then Spain, where it became widely used in Flamenco.
Modern-day cajones are usually equipped with a snare, so that their sound is close to that of a drum kit and allows many applications.

- Hardwood body & front plate
