A fairly hard reed; I always have the habit of wanting to moisten it to soften it but with a fiber reed it doesn't work, it's still a good exercise to play. On the other hand, the fact that it is not quite opaque and gray means that I have trouble placing it on my gray mouthpiece as well, I can't clearly see where it ends.
