This is the most useful tool for beginners! I've been learning to play the guitar for 1 year now but with this hand exerciser, my fingers got tougher for 1 week only. It'd be good to mention here that I'm a woman and I have very small and gentle hands, so playing the instrument is a bit hard for me in general.
