« A Parliament of Owls » is a firework in three contrasting movements about bird species. It uses saxophone, percussion, and a four-hand piano accompaniment. The English terms are very descriptive to define the vocal characteristics of the species: Carol Barratt uses them in this work by Karl Jenkins with three "nonsense" poems. A challenge for the choirs!
