I was looking for an amplifier powerful enough to play on stage in good conditions (mic'd or not), neither too heavy nor bulky for transport, and with a rather vintage sound. After quite a bit of hesitation, my choice fell on the Ampeg 112. The order from Woodbrass was delivered quickly and without problems. I first tried the amp at home and was initially disappointed. As soon as you turn up the mids and treble, there is a very noticeable hiss even if no instrument is plugged in. This hiss is present even at zero volume and amplifies if you engage the sgt and push it... In short, I was a bit annoyed and contacted Woodbrass customer service for a return... Before sending it back, I still went to try the amp at rehearsal and the problem seemed much less annoying: the hiss drowns in the sound and you no longer hear it. So I kept the amp. I play with a Hofner 500/1 from the 80s and I am looking for a vintage sound. I am served with this Ampeg which can give me a sharp sound like a double bass or something more sixties/garage style if needed. The ultra hi and ultra low knobs also allow you to fine-tune the sound well. The Ampeg sound is well present... Since then, I have done a few concerts with it and the overall assessment seems very satisfactory (sound, look, power, extreme lightness). However, I only give 4 stars (hissing present, no pedal, no cover: count 70 € for an additional cover).

Very good advice from Woodbrass, delivery and timing impeccable. The sound is amazing, very good equipment, light and the look is vintage. I recommend it even with an electro-acoustic bass.

EXCELLENT CHOICE Ampeg is a recognized brand in the field and this Rocket Bass 112 amp lives up to its reputation. A deep, round, and warm bass sound that, in my humble opinion, can truly suit most music styles (if not all). Moreover, its beautiful retro/modern design makes it easy to place in the home. It is powerful for its compact and lightweight size. The video test on "woodbrass.com" was true about this amp. I am fully satisfied with this purchase.

Ampeg, 100W That alone should normally be enough! :) The sound is perfect, dynamic. I took the 100W more to have the Super Grit Technology option with settings for distortion and as a result I gained 2 extra boots Ultra Hi and Ultra Lo :) Only good stuff I tell you ;)
