Description
The Germanium Compressor features the same Class A amplification stage as the GERM Pre and Tone Control models. The inputs and outputs are transformer-balanced. The compression circuit uses a FET gain reduction element, but with the advantages and flexibility of GERM products. For example, the dry/processed mix function allows tracks to be "pre-mixed" into the compressor. It also features a Comp Curve function, allowing the slope to be selected using different diode combinations, a clean/saturated compression selection, and a filter on the control circuit. Most of the GERM Compressor's parameters were selected for their sonic and musical qualities, not for the values obtained with measurement equipment. The result is a music processor that is perfect for recording, mixing, and mastering.
