Bought as a complement to R.Morlot's Guitar Scale Dictionary, I found it to be the perfect complement:
_ more theoretical, Gilles Renne's book allows you to deepen your knowledge of the guitar neck until you explore it entirely
_ extremely well done, including the use of both musical notation and tablatures, it allows you to reconnect gently with music theory: scales, chord composition, position on the neck and spotting, vertical and horizontal use of the neck...
_ the progression is perfect.
Just like the Dictionary, some basics will be necessary to approach the work without difficulty: knowing at least one scale and major, minor chords (thus barre chords) will be a considerable asset to fully enjoy it.
I absolutely recommend it to guitarists who feel the need to understand what they are doing.
