Riverside is the result of an in-depth analysis of numerous analog and vacuum tube circuits. Our goal? To offer a new world of tube-inspired drive sounds that are harmonically rich and incredibly versatile. We didn't want to build just another distortion or overdrive. We knew we had to examine what had been done and bring a new approach to the world of drive sounds.
Riverside's cascaded gain stages create harmonically rich sounds that are immensely musical and natural – from clean, silky overdrive to colossal distortion, and everything in between. Our analog JFET input stage allows Riverside to respond to your guitar with uncompromising dynamics and touch. The precisely designed DSP generates dynamic complexity and pleasant harmonics at every stage, allowing your amp to shine at any gain level. Riverside takes your amp where you never thought it could go.
Riverside's continuously variable tuning circuit dynamically adjusts multiple parameters under the hood so that the comfort zone follows you no matter the gain setting. When you turn the Drive knob, Riverside makes continuous adjustments, tuning the circuit for an optimal sound. The result is an incredibly versatile Drive pedal capable of producing pure tones, light overdrives, high-gain leads, and saturated distortions.
Your choice of amp greatly influences the sound of any attack pedal connected to it. Riverside's musical 3-band EQ, with independent knobs for bass, mids, and treble, is designed to complement your amp's sound with the flexibility needed to craft your tone effectively and efficiently. The three-position presence switch adjusts the highest frequencies, allowing Riverside to integrate perfectly with any amp or setup, whether dark or bright.
The first stage of Riverside's custom multi-stage attack topology is a discrete, fully analog, very low-noise Class A JFET circuit. This gain stage is digitally controlled to maximize headroom while adding up to 20dB of pure analog gain, with tight integration to the following DSP gain stages.
Thanks to our hybrid approach, you benefit from the best of both worlds, analog and digital: the JFET stage offers exceptional touch sensitivity and dynamic interaction with your guitar, while the incredibly powerful SHARC DSP enables the level of complexity and responsiveness you want to hear.
