2-channel DJ controller with Serato DJ Lite Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1
The DDJ-REV series is a new range of DJ controllers whose configuration emulates that of a professional DJM-S mixer and PLX turntable, with specialised functions for open format and scratch DJs. For the first time ever on a Pioneer DJ controller, the tempo sliders have been moved to the top of the deck sections and rotated horizontally to emulate PLX decks arranged in a battle configuration.
The Performance Pads have been placed in the mixer section with the Lever FX paddles, exactly where they are on the DJM-S series mixers, allowing you to energetically modify the sound during your performances. You'll find plenty of space to try out mixing techniques on this spacious layout, and scratching is a breeze on the jog wheels, which are significantly larger than the jogs on previous controllers at this level. If you're thinking of getting into mixing and scratching, as well as streaming your sets, the DDJ-REV1 is the ideal kit to start your journey. Right from the start, you can have fun and easily scratch your music with the Tracking Scratch feature. This handy feature automatically returns the track to the cue point when you move the jog wheel from back to front or remove your hand, so you don't need to use the crossfader or worry about returning the jog wheel to the starting point of your scratch.
Simply choose the Scratch Crossfader Cuts pattern you want to use by pressing the corresponding Performance Pad and push the wheel forward to scratch. You can also use the controller's Performance Pads to instantly trigger your favourite samples or tracks that you've loaded into Serato DJ Lite's Scratch bank – previously only available in Serato DJ Pro – and, with Deck 3/4 control, you can play sounds from all 4 decks in the software. When you're ready to broadcast your sets to your friends and followers on social media, you can easily incorporate lyrics and vocals by plugging a microphone into the controller. There's no need for a sound card or external mixer – the sound is transmitted directly to your laptop and stream.
Exclusive introductory offer: Enjoy 3 months of TIDAL HiFi for free
Streaming with TIDAL in Serato DJ Lite gives you access to an infinite music library at the highest audio quality available. With this limited-time introductory offer, DJs will receive a unique code valid for 3 months of TIDAL HiFi for free when they connect their DDJ-REV1 to Serato DJ Lite for the first time.
A brand new layout: Mix intuitively
Get to grips with an interface designed to emulate 2 PLX turntables and a DJM-S series mixer – the type of setup used by professional DJs.
Battle-style setup
Thanks to the new layout of the controls on the DDJ-REV1, there's plenty of space to perform mixing and scratching techniques. The tempo sliders are 60 mm long, making them longer than those on the DDJ-SB3 for more precise control, and they are positioned horizontally above the decks, while the Performance Pads have been moved to the mixing section so you can intuitively combine effects, trigger samples and scratch your tracks.
Larger jog wheels
The larger the jog wheels, the better for scratching. The jogs on the DDJ-REV1 are the same size as those on the DDJ-SR2, a popular controller higher up in Pioneer's DJ range.
FX lever
Dynamically add texture to your music with the FX lever in the mixer section. Pull the levers down and hold them down to apply Serato DJ Lite effects in bursts, or push them up to lock the effects and free your hands for scratching or searching for tracks.
Tracking Scratch: A boost for scratching
The DDJ-REV1 can help you enjoy scratching without doing everything for you. You'll still need to hone your skills, but the Tracking Scratch feature will silently return the music to the cue point as soon as you move the jog wheel from back to front or lift your hand – saving you from closing the fader and finding the right place in the music to start scratching again. Simply select Tracking Scratch Pad mode, press a Performance Pad to choose the Scratch Crossfader Cuts pattern you want to use, and then start moving the wheel.
Microphone audio mixing: Easily add your voice during streaming
For the first time in a Pioneer DJ controller of this level, the master audio output is mixed with the sound from the microphone if you have one connected. This means you don't need external equipment such as a sound card or separate mixer if you want to add vocals or voiceovers to your performance and route them through your computer. All sounds are sent to Serato DJ Lite so you can stream them from there.
Serato DJ Lite integration: Get the most out of the free software
Once you've downloaded Serato DJ Lite for free onto your PC/Mac, simply connect the DDJ-REV1 via the supplied USB cable and start DJing. Enjoy tactile control of the software's various functions and effects by manipulating the controller's buttons, knobs, faders and jog wheels. With Scratch Bank pad mode, you can instantly load scratch samples from 4 banks that you have assigned in Serato DJ Lite or Pro by simply pressing the dedicated Scratch Bank button. You can also load samples from a specific start point, which is handy if you want to use this feature to insert entire tracks during a routine.
