This method was designed to support drum learning regardless of the instrument used. It is suitable for both traditional drum kits and electronic drum kits, particularly Roland's V-Drums kits, designed to reproduce sensations close to acoustic drums and realistic sounds. The goal is to enable the student to develop the correct movements and playing reflexes, without depending on a single type of equipment.
Choosing an electronic drum kit can be a real advantage on a daily basis. From a practical point of view, it can be played easily at low volume or with headphones, making practice sessions easier to organize, even in an apartment. It is also less bulky, which facilitates setup in a dedicated workspace.
From a pedagogical perspective, sound quality contributes to motivation: a rewarding sound encourages replaying, self-correction, and progress. Built-in features, notably the metronome and learning tools present on many models, help work on regularity, rhythmic precision, and listening skills. Finally, connection to educational or professional software and the ability to record oneself allow for reflection on one's playing, identification of areas to improve, and tracking progress over time.
