EFNOTE was born from a simple idea: to put the joy of playing and freedom of design back at the heart of electronic drums. The brand was initiated in 2018 by Japanese engineers with about 20 years of experience in electronic instruments, aiming to push further in terms of beauty, quality, and originality. The Pro 700 embodies this philosophy with a kit firmly oriented towards performance, featuring straightforward ergonomics designed for demanding contexts where a natural response, quick sound management, and robust connectivity are expected.
The EFNOTE Pro 700 targets the intermediate to advanced drummer looking to step up in playing comfort, precision, and audio integration. It is particularly suited for styles where dynamics and clarity of playing matter: pop, rock, funk, gospel, worship, variety, and any live context requiring fast kit changes. Thanks to its outputs and stage box, it is also very coherent in a home studio setting for clean recording, triggering MIDI parts, or working with headphones without sacrificing feel.
The core of the system revolves around a module with a color touchscreen designed to speed up adjustments both in rehearsal and live performance. You have access to 15 predefined kits to start immediately and 20 user slots to create configurations tailored to your setlist. The sound palette is based on 167 high-definition multilayered sounds to better follow the evolution of nuances, from ghost notes to powerful hits.
On the processing side, the 3-band equalizer, compressor, and Master EQ allow quick adjustment of presence, punch, and overall balance without always relying on external processing. The setup is completed by an associated stage box capable of handling up to 15 pads and offering connectivity designed for broadcasting, monitoring, and recording, with analog and digital outputs.
On an electronic drum kit, musicality comes as much from the quality of the samples as from how the kit translates your playing. With its multilayered sounds, the Pro 700 is designed to maintain a more organic feel: velocity variations are better exploited, helping to achieve more credible rolls, clearer accents, and a snare that is more expressive in soft nuances.
The multi-zone pads play a major role in this sense of realism. Moving from a center hit to a rimshot, from the edge of a cymbal to the bell, or from a closed to a more open hi-hat becomes more intuitive and, above all, more musical. Finally, the presence of 6-ply birch shells provides a rewarding acoustic aesthetic and a "serious" kit feel on stage, while retaining the essential advantages of electronics: volume control, sound consistency, and ease of mixing placement.
