For a 10" snare drum, this head seems too thick to me. It muffled the harmonics too much, so I lost a lot of snap and dynamism. I put on a sanded Evans G1. However, on a 14" snare drum, this reference is just great in terms of longevity and sound. Open, punchy, and durable.
