Cut by hand, the canes are worn on the back of a man on the edge of a reed bed. They are then leafed, sun-dried, dried, sawn, arrowed, tabled, bevelled, ... No less than fifteen distinct production stages that produce a considerable volume of reed waste that is reused as a fertilizer for reed beds or as fuel for heating factory. Box of 10 reeds. V12 reeds are cut in reed tubes of diameter equivalent to that used for alto saxophone reeds. As a result, they are thicker at both ends than traditional reeds. They vibrate on a longer palette and provide a rich and deep sound. The thickest part gives body to the attack and also increases the longevity of the reed. In comparison, a reed of force 3 is roughly equivalent to a traditional reed of strength 2.5.
