It's the first time I've played with a heavy gauge like this. At first, if you're used to 9-46,.. it can be a bit disorienting. Then you get used to it and you get a precise sound, suitable for blues, jazz but also perfectly fits pop rock (not metal of course). In the end, I will stick with this gauge which gives me the best sound on my Gretsch 5122.
