The Meinl Sonic Energy Om gongs are handmade in Germany. They are tuned to the tone of "Om," one of the most sacred syllables in Hinduism. According to tradition, Om or Aum is the sound from which the universe was created. It is said that the vibration of the syllable triggered the act of creation. These magnificent instruments meet the highest sonic demands of sound practitioners, sound meditation studios, or large orchestras. The vast size and power of this instrument will leave any listener in admiration and wonder.
Note: this is a handmade instrument, forged by heating the metal alloy to high temperatures, then hammering the surface by hand to achieve the desired pitch and tone. Our artisanal manufacturing process makes each gong unique, with no gong having an identical surface. The hammer patterns and coloration due to the heating process vary, reflecting the complexity of our work and the exceptional quality of the resulting sound.
