Thanks to this innovative collaboration, MPC systems are now compatible with a wide range of plugins developed by Native Instruments, with an interface specifically designed for the MPC environment. Explore new sound dimensions, use studio-quality virtual instruments and stimulate your creativity from your MPC, without taking your eyes off your machine.
Calling all producers! Akai Professional has struck again, taking up the challenge of replacing its famous autonomous flagship, the MPC Live, with the brand new MPC Live II. Building on the phenomenal success of its predecessor, this latest-generation MPC incorporates a series of improvements designed to offer even more control and mobility to producers and beatmakers, including the integration of high-quality studio monitors, the arrival of CV/Gate connectors and the addition of Multi MIDI functionality.
Fully autonomous music production
Like the compact MPC One +, the MPC Live II is a fully autonomous music production station. Its very bright 7-inch multitouch touchscreen gives producers and beatmakers access to all the features they need to create a beat from scratch, and to select a kit and configure the 16 backlit multifunction pads that are touch and velocity sensitive. The MPC Live II also has 5 new buttons to improve the editing workflow, such as Mute, Time Correct and Mix, allowing the artist to edit and modify their tracks in the blink of an eye!
Always at the cutting edge with MPC Software
The MPC Live II works in concert with the famous MPC Software, a unique hardware-software ecosystem that allows users to benefit from the legendary MPC workflow. Recently updated to version 2.8, it brings the new Multi MIDI functionality to the MPC Live II, allowing producers to connect and route all their studio MIDI equipment from the MPC. Capable of also controlling numerous external MIDI devices, such as drum machines or synthesisers, the MPC Live II is the heart of any production configuration.
An integrated monitoring system
The great innovation of this new MPC is the integrated monitoring system that literally transforms your MPC Live II into a small broadcasting system, providing you not only with a set of reference monitoring speakers for the studio, but also enabling you to share, create and collaborate during your mobile sessions. These studio-quality speakers have a dynamic frequency response covering the entire musical range, meticulously reproducing the highly detailed audio of high frequencies, while delivering precise bass.
New, very powerful plugin for creating synthetic drum sounds.
Akai Professional announces the addition of DrumSynth to its MPC and FORCE music production machines, with firmware updates MPC 2.9 and FORCE 3.0.6. DrumSynth further enhances the power of existing virtual instruments already integrated on the MPC and FORCE - TubeSynth, Bassline, Electric and Hype (FORCE only). This powerful instrument plugin offers the MPC and Force a very advanced capacity for designing synthesised drum sounds, all via a free update.

After a week of use, pure happiness. It's my first MPC and not obvious at first glance, but once you understand the environment by reading the manual and all the available tutorials, you then discover the power and incredible possibilities of this machine. The battery and the speakers are great and essential for me. What a pleasure to sit on the couch with the MPC on your lap and let yourself go. Musically...

MPC makes a big impact! After a short adaptation period, the workflow is very enjoyable. The impressive number of inputs, the large and touch screen, and the internal battery put it ahead of the competition (notably the Maschine Plus) and make it the No.1 Standalone. PS: the built-in speakers are surprising and more than just a gadget.

The MPC live is an interesting machine with many possibilities. It may seem complex at first but it is very easy to use once you are a bit familiar with sequencers. In a few hours you can already produce some good quality tracks and get the hang of it. It notably features monitoring speakers and various useful functions such as scales or chords that can be used with the factory sound plugins. The interface is ergonomic and the workflow remains quite simple overall, although it can be daunting when you lack practice. You can use your own sounds or those from high-quality AKAI expansions. It is a good production machine that you can connect to your computer, which has several audio outputs and of course MIDI inputs and outputs. Some improvements could be made regarding the interface and some additional effects like a leveler would be a plus. The investment is interesting if you do production and want a machine that can be a good source of inspiration. You can of course save your projects on the internal memory. The possibilities of use are far from limited and you will discover many useful features as you master it. Finally, you have a touchscreen, which is not negligible. For now, I am quite satisfied with this purchase whose full potential I see. I suppose it can be used live but that requires some preparation. For this kind of use, there are more suitable machines.... (Show more)

An interesting machine that can be the heart of a home studio but has some bugs and interface flaws (no return button, rewind, fast forward, no possibility to navigate your files between folders, and frequent bugs during saves)
