The New Yorker? series drum kits, like the entire PDP® range, were developed in California by DW®.
If you are looking for a compact and lightweight kit for a space-saving setup, easy transport, and uncomplicated handling, you have found the perfect solution here.
The four-piece kit, consisting of a suspended 10x8" tom, a 13x12" floor tom, a 16x14" bass drum, and a 14x5" snare drum, offers a warm and full sound thanks to the poplar shells and is available in various elegant finishes. An excellent choice for beginners and active drummers.
In addition to the wood and the overall small size, the mini drop-shaped shells provide an additional weight reduction to further enhance portability.
But less weight does not mean less equipment! All New Yorker? series drum kits are of course equipped with DW® True-Pitch® tension rods, high-quality REMO® heads, and a versatile bass drum mount. Furthermore, each kit includes a bass drum riser to accommodate almost all pedal playing variations.
Because versatility is a crucial factor for him, drummer Daru Jones, a New York star of all genres, partnered with PDP to develop a special edition of this line bearing his name.
The Daru Jones New Yorker? kit, high-quality and extremely easy to use in concert, is a four-piece kit including a complete set of DW® 6000 Ultralight? hardware and nylon bags for easy transport.
The hybrid poplar/maple shells of this version are sized in "short stack," which allows for a remarkably big and warm sound despite greatly reduced dimensions. The already extremely cool appearance is further enhanced by the large-grain gold-black Sparkle Fade finish.
The DJNY kits are equipped with True-Pitch® tension rods, high-quality REMO® heads, a reduced-weight bass drum mount, and a single row of double lugs each. For the snare drum, DW®'s innovative MAG? trigger has been added.
Everything speaks in favor of this kit. But the real argument lies in the sound.
