Update
Requires a full license to operate.
This version is an upgrade (UPG): it requires a registered iZotope Elements product (for example Ozone Elements or Elements Suite) to be eligible for activation. Installation and activation require an Internet connection, with protection options between online activation or iLok 2/3.
iZotope Ozone 12 Standard is a mastering plug-in designed to finalize your mixes with a coherent, powerful sound compatible with current standards. It is aimed at both home studio producers and engineers who want a fast tool to achieve loudness goals, control dynamics, balance the spectrum, and enhance stereo image without sacrificing musicality. Thanks to assistance features and reference-based targets, you can start from a reliable foundation and then precisely refine according to your aesthetic (pop, rap, electro, rock, film music, etc.).
The Custom Master Assistant Flow lets you decide: module selection, volume control, and choice of genre targets rather than a fully imposed result. You can also create mastering chains from presets inspired by recent hits, a loaded reference audio file, or custom targets generated via iZotope Audiolens. The goal: quickly obtain a credible base, then adapt it to your artistic intention.
The Assistant View allows fine-tuning of the treatment intensity to stay subtle or, conversely, aim for a more assertive mastering. When you want to go further, the Detail View provides full access to modules and parameters, convenient for surgical adjustments and creative decisions (color, saturation, width, punch).
The Stabilizer module acts as an intelligent and adaptive equalizer: it follows the mix dynamics to smooth aggressive areas and reduce harshness without freezing the sound. Ideal for preserving liveliness while achieving a more stable tonal balance, particularly useful on dense or very bright mixes.
The Maximizer module includes an upward compressor to transparently enhance quieter passages while preserving transients. The Magnify Soft Clip mode helps maintain tonal balance while increasing level, thanks to several IRC peak limiting algorithms. A relevant choice for aiming at competitive masters for streaming without crushing the attack.
The Recover Sides mode in Imager preserves spatial information when the signal becomes mono, in order to keep a sense of depth and presence. This is an asset for securing compatibility (broadcast, Bluetooth speakers, clubs) while maintaining controlled width.
The Master Rebalance mode offers real-time control of the vocals, bass, or drums levels directly at mastering, useful for correcting a slightly unbalanced mix. Additionally, the Transient/Sustain mode available in modules like EQ or Exciter allows temporal processing inspired by an M/S workflow, to sculpt attack and sustain in a very musical way.
