I switched from a Beta 58 that's almost 15 years old today to the ksm8. I've been using it for a 2-hour session in rehearsal mode between 2 drummers and facing 2 guitarists and a bassist. The mic does the job. I feel like it reproduces the bass better. I haven't adjusted the settings to compare though. It isolates unwanted sounds well and allows me to sing with my lips close to the mic without any problem, but also farther away from the mic.
