A direct evolution of the award-winning MixPre series, the MixPre-6 II retains the compact and robust format of its predecessors while offering 32-bit floating point recording and a dynamic range extended to 142 dB. Positioned at the heart of the MixPre II range, it combines mobility, conversion quality, and advanced synchronization tools for fast shoots, interviews, and demanding reports.

For Creators, Podcasters, and Independent Film Teams

Whether you are recording voices, ambiances, effects, a multi-guest podcast, or audio for picture, the MixPre-6 II adapts. It fits into a bag, mounts on a tripod or camera, powers condenser microphones with 48 V phantom power, and offers precise headphone monitoring. In the field, it records internally to an SD card; in the studio or at home, it becomes a reliable USB interface for broadcasting and streaming.

Professional Features That Simplify Sound Capture

The Kashmir preamps deliver extremely low noise floor and comfortable gain headroom for dynamic and ribbon microphones. The adjustable high-pass filter (40 to 160 Hz) cleans handling noise, while transparent limiters secure your peaks. The internal timecode generator and TC input ensure smooth post-production, with camera triggering possible via HDMI or Aux.

Thanks to the USB-C port, the MixPre-6 II functions as an 8-input / 4-output interface for multitrack recording or live podcasting. Power options vary according to context: USB-C bus power, AC adapter, or 4xAA battery pack (optional L-mount batteries), for maximum autonomy and flexibility in the field. The free Wingman app finally offers comfortable remote control.

Compactness, efficiency, performance... everything is there! The MP6-ii lives up to its promises. The interface, despite the (tiny) size of the touchscreen, works very well. The "Basic" mode is really usable for... basic projects. The "Advanced" mode or the "custom" mode allows using the MP in (almost) all recording situations. The device seems very robust and its super compact size is very practical. The limitations I notice when using it: * only one SD card slot * power supply => plan for an external capacitive solution (like a USB-C battery) * the gymnastics required to fix a com on the MP... a real hassle! * the screen size The pluses: * build quality, robustness * recording/mixing quality * interface design => very well thought out * compactness/performance => top notch! Excellent portable recorder/mixer. And on top of that, it also works as a USB audio interface! The 32 bit float mode => it's still better to "set your levels" as usual. I don't really like super patchwork in post-production. But it can recover a messy leveling. Plan for ultra HD SD cards!... (Show more)
