Artisanal Japanese craftsmanship.
JICO, acronym for Nippon Precision Jewel Industry Co. LTD, is a Japanese manufacturer well known among enthusiasts of high-quality cartridges and diamonds for turntables, both audiophiles and DJs alike. This family business based in the Hamasaka region of the Land of the Rising Sun, with origins dating back to 1873, began its history by manufacturing sewing needles, a precision activity that already foreshadowed its future! Producing diamonds and cantilevers since 1966 that have made its reputation, the brand has continuously innovated while preserving traditional manufacturing techniques, and now offers its own cartridge holders, cartridges, and diamonds for the delight of all vinyl lovers.
The ideal replacement for the legendary Shure N44-7.
The brand has worked hard to offer vinyl enthusiasts and DJs a replacement solution for the famous Shure M44-7 and N44-7 cartridges and diamonds. This pair of N44-7 DJ stylus developed by JICO features a Type S tubular aluminum cantilever, precisely crafted to closely match the original Shure cantilevers, while offering an optimal 7° tracking angle.
JICO favored the use of a full spherical diamond (so-called "nude") for these styli, whose tip is cut from a single piece of diamond. More costly and higher quality than glued tips, this nude diamond is lighter and provides much better groove tracking of your vinyl, as well as more efficient transmission of vibrations for a much richer sound.
A pair of styli designed primarily for DJs.
This pair of J44A-7 styli offered by JICO, which reproduces sounds similar to authentic Shure styli, benefits from improvements made by the brand to best meet the needs of DJs. The recommended tracking force has been increased, from a maximum of 3g for the Shure model to 4.5g for this JICO model to ensure better groove tracking for the most demanding turntablism sessions. The tracking angle has been upgraded, from 10° for the Shure diamond to 7° on this JICO version, for even more faithful playback quality. And to protect the diamond in all circumstances, this model features a protective flap that folds over the stylus to prevent any harmful friction.
