Indeed, it is complex, but I use it more and more and discover new features every day! As a saxophonist, I find that the sax sounds are not great, but I use it for clarinet, oboe, trumpet, harmonica, brass ensemble sounds, etc.... and it does the job well!

The AE-30 responds very well to what is announced as an analog sound generator (jack output) and digital (MIDI and USB output). The sounds that the user can create have a huge palette of parameters to modulate at will (which I have not yet tested). The sound bank already available is immense and of uneven quality. Some are excellent; the pan flute, the organs and Jazz in particular, the timbales. The saxophones are average. In general, the modulated response on the breath and the reed pluck are very well rendered but Roland should refine its sensor to detect attacks (tongue strikes) which currently go unnoticed. To compensate for this, they offer a trumpet (normal) and a trumpet attack mode. To switch from one to the other during play, you have to memorize these two registers using the two user-configurable buttons. For the saxes, there is no "Sax attack" ready! As for the sound, we are amazed by the quality of the rendering over 5 octaves! provided, of course, that you use speakers capable of reproducing all frequencies with power. Good news; the noise of the keys has been eliminated. Now the keyboard is silent unlike the complaints of the first models so criticized on YT. The point that is not up to the expected level is the lack of assistance from Roland service to install the software which has an installation delay of 24h. They simply do not respond to reset a password!

Not tested everything yet, but the small headphones on the sax are useful for working 10 minutes without connections. I still have to set up the button under the right thumb

Difficult to assess, it is too early because the instrument is complex.

Some difficulties with the left-hand keys, which seem made for long fingers, and the thickness of the case makes it difficult to hold. The sounds... are great and the effects very good with a wide range of nuances, the sharp shape of the reed pinches a bit on the edges. Very flexible in configuration options, but lacks an overall or general view of the selected options, maybe a displayable table on the phone. In terms of documentation, the AE20 user manual is very clear but the parameter guide is difficult to understand. Overall, I really like it and recommend this somewhat magical and new instrument.
