The Essentials to Know About the Hammond M-Solo Organ
- Ultra-compact and lightweight format (49 keys) for the traveling organist, with no compromise on the Hammond character.
- Complete palette: B-3 tonewheel emulation, 3 transistor organs (Vx, Farf, Ace), 70's strings machine and polyphonic synthesizer with dual oscillator.
- Immediate control with 9 drawbars and a "what you see is what you get" panel + 3 instant recall memories.
- Modern connectivity: 5-pin MIDI In/Out, USB, auxiliary input, "Leslie Fast" jack and expression pedal.
Hammond, the B-3 DNA in a travel format
Designed as a stage and studio companion, the M-Solo condenses the spirit of historic Hammond organs into an easy-to-carry chassis. It naturally fits above a piano or within a keyboard stack, and offers, as a complement to an existing setup, the essential colors of the B-3 and large transistor organs, plus ensemble textures and a versatile synth to cover a modern repertoire.
Keyboard Design
The M-Solo features a
49-key velocity-sensitive keyboard with a light synth-style touch, ideal for fast organ playing. Its
virtual Multi-Contact system enhances the typical Hammond attack feel and responds finely to nuances, especially when coupled with an
expression pedal for organic crescendos.
Sound Quality
At the heart of the instrument, a
precise tonewheel organ modeling (B-3 style) coexists with
three transistor organ emulations (Vx, Farf, Ace) for contrasting vintage timbres. A
70's strings machine and a
polyphonic dual-oscillator synthesizer (4 waveforms, envelope, PWM, 4-pole filter) expand the range for pads, leads, and hybrid layers. The
digital Leslie speaker simulation adds depth and movement to the sound.
Built-in Effects
Reverb, chorus/vibrato, delay, and overdrive complement the
Leslie simulation to sculpt space, modulation, and saturation, from light brightness to heavy overdrive, with a musical response adapted to organ playing.
Educational Features
Designed for progress and expression, the M-Solo offers
3 preset slots to memorize configurations and recall them with one gesture. The
physical controls (drawbars, dedicated knobs) encourage active listening and timbre work. The
auxiliary input allows playing along with accompaniments or playbacks for effective practice sessions.
Advanced Features
- 5-pin MIDI In/Out and USB-MIDI for direct integration into a DAW or live setup.
- "Leslie Fast" jack for speed control, plus expression pedal for dynamics.
- 9 multifunction drawbars with WYSIWYG workflow for real-time editing.
- 3 user memories for instant recalls during concerts.
- Auxiliary input for external sources (backing tracks, digital piano, etc.).
