Applolito Extended configuration
A total of seven individual speakers have been deployed to achieve smooth transitions given the size of the cabinet. In addition, we have chosen a horizontal symmetrical which can be described as an extended Appolito configuration. This type of design, combined with suitable crossover frequencies and filter slopes, results in diffusion patterns that achieve uniform sound reproduction in a horizontal center position. Vertical dispersion is also restricted so that reflections from the ceiling, floor or mixer are reduced to a minimum. Thus, "primary reflections" are less likely to interfere, which greatly improves the stereo image and generates a more three-dimensional sound. Further advancements have also been made in speaker development through the use of Alucore® panels, a highly resistant composite material featuring an aluminum core in the shape of a honeycomb. All of the loudspeakers that equip the S6X and S7A Mk2 models are mounted on these panels, which greatly improves the mechanical coupling between them and the cabinet.
Amplification and Control Panel
Integrated amplifiers are coupled to their respective speakers as directly as possible, so remote amplifiers do not interfere with active technology. One 500 Watt amplifier is assigned to each of the 12 ″ woofers, while the 250 Watt amps are assigned to the other bands in the frequency range. This benchmark speaker combines exceptional power with unparalleled precision: SPL peaks well in excess of 130dB are produced without any compression or aggressiveness. The S6X is an excellent choice for large control rooms and recording or movie studios. In addition to the input sensitivity, which can be changed by ± 10 dB, four other level controls affect each amplifier module. Shelf filters at each end of the spectrum and three parametric EQ bands help manage standing waves in the control room. EQs can be inserted separately or together, allowing their effects to be directly evaluated.
