The Kii THREE embody a clear philosophy: achieving a linear frequency response, controlled impulse response, and exemplary phase coherence, while minimizing room influence. Designed by Bruno Putzeys (creator of Ncore Class D Technology), they stand apart from traditional active monitors by directly addressing the most common studio issue: bass "bleeding" into the environment and clouding mixing decisions. Where large systems often require heavy acoustics and high volumes, Kii offers a compact solution with digitally controlled directivity to focus useful energy toward the sound engineer.
The Kii THREE + Kii Control system targets production, mixing, and mastering studios seeking reference listening without moving to large speakers. It is also especially relevant for control rooms with placement constraints (close to a wall, corner installation, small volumes), thanks to integrated adaptation functions and controlled directivity in low frequencies. In practice, this results in a more stable image, clearer bass, and more reliable EQ or compression decisions, even at high levels.
Active Wave Focusing technology manages acoustic dispersion to channel acoustic pressure toward the listening position. The goal is not just to produce level but to make it usable: less bass excited in the room, more information at the listening spot, and a clearer perception of transients and balances. The DSP enables cardioid-type dispersion in the bass and low-midrange, behavior usually associated with much larger systems.
Each speaker houses 6 amplifiers of 250 W, one per driver (four woofers, one midrange, one tweeter). This architecture, combined with Ncore Class D, promotes excellent driver control, low distortion, and comfortable dynamics even at high levels. Intelligent limiters are integrated for protection to maintain consistent and safe performance during long working sessions.
Converters are integrated and sized to match the amplification. Digital inputs are oversampled and locked via a jitter rejection algorithm developed by Kii Audio to preserve stability and temporal accuracy. The entire processing path (including a full pass through the AD/DA of the processing board) is claimed to be transparent and inaudible, so your decisions are guided by the content, not the chain.
The Kii Control (supplied with the system) transforms the Kii THREE into a complete and user-friendly playback solution: input selection, volume adjustment, and simplified control. It adds three digital inputs (SPDIF coaxial, TOSLINK, USB) and connects via a single included CAT6 cable, which also supplies power without an additional power brick. All inputs are located on the rear and can be activated via touch controls around the volume knob. A dedicated input button (XLR) allows switching the existing hardware input on the speaker, usable interchangeably in analog or digital.
