Bach's six Partitas are arguably the most famous and demanding collection of suites in the history of music. Bach was aware of the weight that this cycle weighed, since he first had the partitas, made up of numerous movements, composed between 1726 and 1730 in Leipzig and crowned in 1731 by a common collection proudly bearing the number from opus "1". The diversity of forms knows no limits, musical writing is constantly traversed by a most refined counterpoint, not to mention the ever-renewed interest in the pleasure of virtuosity. Éditions G. Henle presents this masterful work in a revised Urtext edition which, in addition to the original editions, is also based on handwritten sources, documents in detail the numerous annotations appearing in the proofs of Bach's entourage and also reproduces the ornamented versions in the appendix. A real reference!
