Quadravox is a composition and sound design plugin that transforms an incoming signal into up to four harmonized voices according to a chosen key and scale. It is useful both for writing (chord ideas, counter-melodies, melodic movements) and producing (harmonic doubling, stereo widening, synchronized melodic delays). Whether you work in electronic, pop, rock, or ambient music, it allows you to generate clean and inspiring harmonies from a vocal, a guitar, a mono lead, and even percussive elements for original rhythmic sequences.
Each Quadravox voice can be adjusted separately: pitch (with choice of musical interval type), level, pan, as well as a delay with feedback. This layered approach makes it easy to create a synthetic choir, a controlled stack of intervals, or precise stereo widening without losing mix clarity.
The Notation Grid displays pitches on a traditional staff and offers a quantized grid to place notes in time. This allows you to program harmonic movements and rhythmic responses intuitively. Visual cues help you mix quickly: color and brightness represent pan and level of each voice respectively.
Quadravox includes MixLock to preserve the wet/dry setting when changing presets or snapshots, and KeyLock to lock the key and scale during exploration. The result: you can audition ideas without losing your mix balance or harmonic context. The Randomize function adds micro pitch variations to simulate a more organic character and subtly differentiate the 4 voices.
Optimized for use in multiple instances, Quadravox encourages interactions between tracks (crossed harmonies, call-and-response patterns, animated pads). The pitch-tracking off mode emphasizes musicality of shifts and sequences, particularly useful on polyphonic or rhythmic sounds when you want a more creative effect than strict pitch tracking.
