MC2000 Native v7 is a multiband compressor plugin designed for mixing and mastering when you need to control dynamics by frequency bands rather than with overall compression. It allows you to stabilize an overly energetic low end, smooth an aggressive midrange vocal, or tame overly prominent highs while preserving the overall mix balance.
Thanks to its 2, 3, and 4-band architectures, MC2000 adapts equally well to corrective treatments (cleaning and control) and creative approaches (punch, density, "radio-ready" feel). It is a particularly relevant tool for modern productions (pop, hip-hop, electro, rock), sound design, as well as bus processing (drum bus, mix bus) when you want to increase impact without crushing the music.
MC2000 Native v7 offers six multiband compressor configurations, covering 2, 3, and 4-band versions in both mono and stereo. This flexibility allows you to choose a lightweight and quick-to-adjust structure or, conversely, a fine division to lock down problematic areas of a complex signal. In practice, you can process an individual track (vocals, bass, synth, guitar) or a group (drums, instruments, mix) with a "tailored" approach.
In addition to classic Threshold and Compression (ratio) controls, MC2000 Native v7 lets you refine the compressor's response via Knee and Bite. The Knee helps define a smoother or sharper transition into compression, directly influencing the transparency and musicality of the processing. The Bite parameter (intelligent bidirectional transient enhancement) shapes the attack and perception of transients, useful for retaining snap on a snare, adding presence to a vocal, or preventing a signal from losing energy after compression.
Each compressor relies on detection circuits modeling time constants to detect and track peaks, then apply gain reduction coherently. The result: the plugin reacts more credibly to dynamic variations, with behavior closer to a "studio" approach than a generic digital compressor. This design helps maintain a stable sound even on sources rich in transients or highly modulated.
To go beyond simple dynamic control, MC2000 Native v7 integrates analog saturation modeling to add character and a sense of density, useful for making a signal more "present" in the mix. The double precision processing aims for better calculation accuracy, especially appreciated when stacking effects or working in mastering. Finally, the ultra-low latency facilitates use in production and busy sessions without compromising playability or workflow fluidity in your DAW.
