Generate is a polyphonic virtual synthesizer designed to produce sounds rich in movement, detail, and character. Whereas a classic synth relies on stable waveforms, Generate exploits chaotic behaviors that remain musical while adding micro-variations, roughness, harmonic tension, and lively textures. It excels both in sound design (film, games, ambient, experimental) and modern electronic production (IDM, techno, bass music) thanks to its evolving timbres, unstable basses, deep pads, and aggressive leads.
The heart of Generate is based on chaotic generators whose "pseudo-randomness" hides patterns, feedback loops, repetitions, and a form of self-organization. The result: you can slide the sound from a smooth sine wave to denser, granular, or noisy areas, passing through a wide variety of intermediate states. These textures notably include distortion, harmonics, grunge, static, and noise, with modulable behavior ranging from very controlled to intentionally unpredictable.
The chaotic oscillators then pass through your choice of 5 wavefolders, each adding harmonics and a different signature. Approaches inspired by a Buchla-style complex waveform generator, a "Model Bent" variant, a Saturate color from a proprietary algorithm, as well as Animated and Fractal wavefolders push the timbre toward more moving and atypical zones. All this is followed by a Low Pass Gate in the spirit of Buchla circuits, ideal for achieving percussive attacks, natural closures, and an organic response, with advanced controls like POLES and RESONANCE.
Generate is designed as a "quasi-modular" synth with an immediate workflow. Almost all parameters can be modulated via two looping envelopes, two LFOs, a Sample and Hold / Random module, an 8-step sequencer, as well as MIDI and MPE sources. The modulation interface allows creating complex movements without getting lost in menus and can handle an impressive number of routings, including cross-modulations between sources, for very "alive" sonic evolutions.
After generation and timbre sculpting, Generate offers a complete effects chain: EQ, Chorus, Delay, Reverb, and Limiter. Enough to transform a raw and unstable texture into a wide, spatial, and finished sound, suitable for mixing, live performance, and expressive controllers.
With over 900 presets, Generate covers a wide spectrum: complex pads, warm and moving keys, jittery sequenced basses, uncontrollable leads, and extreme textures. Ergonomics are enhanced by a resizable interface, customizable color schemes, and animations on certain modules (Double Pendulum, Wavefolder, Low Pass Gate) to visualize the impact of your settings and modulations.
