Complete software
Largo 2 is a software synthesizer focused on production and sound design, designed to create punchy basses, sharp leads, rich evolving pads, and digital textures typical of wavetable synthesis. Its architecture allows quick transitions from virtual analog (VA) sounds to complex, moving, and harmonically dense timbres, ideal for electro, pop, techno, synthwave, scoring, and any production requiring precise and expressive synthesis sounds.
Thanks to its high polyphony and performance features (unison, legato, advanced arpeggiator), Largo 2 fits seamlessly into both composition workflows and more experimental approaches, where deep modulation sculpting creates lively sounds with movement and smooth transitions.
Each voice features 3 oscillators: two wavetable oscillators capable of also operating in waveform (VA) mode, plus one dedicated VA oscillator. Each wavetable oscillator includes a sub oscillator, perfect for reinforcing bass, thickening leads, or stabilizing pads in the low spectrum. The engine also includes a noise generator and character tools such as oscillator FM, hard sync, and ring modulation to add bite, metallic harmonics, or more aggressive attacks.
Largo 2 offers 2 independent digital filters per voice with 12 dB and 24 dB modes (LP, BP, HP, Notch). You can route them in series or parallel to switch from classic filtering to more creative architectures, and go further with 2 comb filters (ideal for "string" resonances or physical effects) as well as 3 types of formant filters. These formant filters emulate the human vocal tract response and allow morphing of vowels a-e-i-o-u via the cutoff, perfect for chorale timbres, "talking synths," and expressive vocal modulations.
To add movement to your sounds, Largo 2 provides 4 ultra-fast envelopes with selectable types and various loop modes, plus 3 LFOs synchronizable to MIDI Clock, with retrigger and adjustable start phase. The third LFO includes a 16-step drawable waveform, very useful for filter sequences, rhythmic tremolos, controlled wobbles, or precise "gated" effects.
The 16-slot modulation matrix is at the core of the workflow: sources and destinations can be reused multiple times, and modulation speed can reach very high rates, close to audio-rate for more experimental textures. Additionally, Largo 2 includes 4 complex modifiers and mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, OR, XOR, AND, Min, Max) to combine multiple sources and build evolving, conditional, or highly detailed modulations.
The integrated arpeggiator is among Largo 2's most creative elements: beyond standard modes, it allows creating your own patterns over 16 steps, ideal for transforming a chord into a musical phrase, programming tempo-synced patterns, and achieving quick variations without leaving your instrument.
Each layer has 2 high-quality effect slots (reverb, delay, chorus, phaser, flanger, drive), plus EQ and bass boost to anchor a sound in the mix. The multi-stage chorus helps achieve wide pads and string-like ensembles, while drive and effect modulations make a sound more present, granular, or aggressive depending on the style.
Largo 2 includes a file browser and a program manager to efficiently load, save, and reorganize your sounds. The drag-and-drop workflow facilitates sorting, copying, and moving presets both on disk and within the current bank. The patch list benefits from a category filter to quickly find a bass, lead, pad, or effect, both in session and composition.
