Waves Eddie Kramer Effects Channel is designed to quickly add character and dimension to a signal by reproducing the aesthetic of classic studio effects: a tape delay for echo (from tight slapback to longer repeats) and a plate reverb for a rich, diffuse ambiance. It's a natural choice for rock, pop, and blues productions, but also to modernize a mix by adding organic depth, especially on lead vocals, backing vocals, electric guitars (lead and rhythm), or even a snare drum lacking depth.
The delay module is based on a "tape" approach designed to easily achieve classic results. The 15 ips and 7.5 ips speeds reproduce typical tape echo behaviors, perfect for placing a vocal upfront in the mix, thickening a guitar, or creating a rhythmic bounce without unnecessary complexity.
The plate reverb (EMT-style) provides a silky ambiance, with diffusion that fills the space without giving the impression of a realistic "room." It's ideal for adding size to a vocal, smoothing a guitar solo, or adding a layer of depth that remains clear in a busy mix.
What truly sets Eddie Kramer Effects Channel apart is how the delay and plate interact: the balance between delay time and reverb level/ambiance is quickly found, helping to "dress" a source without multiplying plugins. The size and brightness controls allow fine-tuning of the color so it integrates naturally into the mix, from a soft vintage tone to a more vibrant presence.
Use it as an insert for direct processing (e.g., on a lead vocal or guitar solo), or as a bus to share the effect across multiple tracks and maintain a coherent space. In both cases, the goal remains the same: speed up mixing while preserving a credible analog aesthetic.
