Complete software
Waves Element 2.0 is a subtractive analog virtual synth designed to capture the feel and musicality of hardware machines while benefiting from the flexibility of software instruments. It integrates naturally into modern productions, suitable for electronic styles (house, techno, EDM, synthwave) as well as pop, hip-hop, film scoring, or more organic arrangements requiring warm textures.
Usable as a plugin within your DAW or standalone for live performance, Element 2.0 covers the essential needs of a production synth: creating a firm and round bass, a lead that cuts through the mix, vintage-inspired polyphonic pads, or rhythmic patterns animated by the sequencer and arpeggiator.
Element 2.0 prioritizes sound quality: a warm and polished timbre with a musical response reminiscent of analog synths. This "fat" and smooth character facilitates mix integration, whether you seek massive lows, present mids, or silky highs. The result is especially effective for bass lines, expressive leads, and vintage-style chords.
Element 2.0 favors a direct approach: no menus to navigate, no hidden pages. Parameters are logically grouped in a single window, like on a hardware synth panel. This layout speeds up sound creation, encourages real-time tweaking, and makes automation more intuitive within a project.
With 429 presets, Element 2.0 offers a solid foundation to start a track in seconds, then refine according to your musical intent. You'll find punchy basses, sharp leads, "dancing" arpeggios, classic polysynths, energetic sequences, and effects to enrich intros or breaks. Ideal if you alternate between fast production and deeper sound design sessions.
All parameters are MIDI-controllable, and the MIDI Learn function simplifies assignment to a controller: activate learn mode, move a knob, fader, pedal, or wheel, and the mapping is done. Additionally, the multipoint touch response (depending on your hardware) encourages more spontaneous playing and more "performative" editing, useful both in studio and live settings.
Element 2.0 includes an effects section designed to complement the synthesis engine without breaking creative flow. You have a delay, reverb, distortion, bitcrusher, chorus, and EQ to quickly shape the sound, from simple spatial enhancement to more aggressive transformation.
For rhythmic animation, the 16-step sequencer with an analog style, combined with the arpeggiator, allows creation of pulsed patterns, variations, and melodic motifs without multiplying MIDI clips. Handy for building hooks, ostinatos, modulated textures, or evolving basslines.
The modulation matrix makes modulation more accessible: you can assign modulation sources to key destinations to bring a sound to life (filter movement, timbre variations, intensity, effects). This approach suits both expressive sound creation and more experimental textures, while remaining clear and quick to configure.
