S1 Stereo Imager is a toolkit dedicated to stereo mixing: it is used to widen a source without altering its character, to add more size and authority to an arrangement, and to correct left-right balance issues on loops, stereo takes, or even a premix. It is especially useful on background vocals, doubled guitars, pads, overheads, as well as on reverb and delay returns to push the space outward and clear the center of the mix.
S1 Imager lets you go from a tight source to an extra-wide image, or conversely fold into mono when you want to solidify the center. The tool also helps achieve better clarity of stereo effects: for example, widening a reverb to increase the sense of depth while keeping the lead vocal perfectly centered. Additionally, you can correct a shaky stereo image by asymmetrically tilting the image, then repositioning it to balance the stereo field.
When the goal is to add body without weakening the low end of the mix, S1 Shuffler adds dedicated controls to widen the bass frequencies while remaining mono-compatible. This is ideal for giving guitar rhythms a "thicker" feel, preventing a drum kit from losing impact, or adding more width and density to a stereo source beyond simple panning.
The utility plugin MS Matrix functions as an encoder and decoder for mid-side processing. You encode your stereo signal into Mid and Sides, process each component separately with your favorite effects, then decode everything back to stereo. This approach opens up a precise workflow: enhancing center presence, widening the sides, or controlling ambience and resonances without affecting the core of the mix.
