AN IDEAL AUDIO RECORDER FOR PODCAST
Four-track simultaneous recording and interchangeable mic capsules make the H5 flexible and capable enough to meet the growing needs of today's creators. Designed to meet professional requirements, the ZOOM H5 recorder completes the range and adds highly anticipated features. Offering 4 recording tracks (2 microphone/line inputs on XLR combo, two dedicated removable capsule inputs), the H5 allows the user to choose the microphone they use; The XYH-5 pair included with the unit can be replaced by the MSH-6 Mid-Side capsule, the SGH-6 “shotgun” microphone, or EXH-6 microphone/line inputs.
A PROFESSIONAL QUALITY CAPSULE AND PREAMP
The XYH-5 mic capsule design allows the H5 to accommodate up to 140 dB SPL of sound pressure – the sound equivalent of a jet plane at less than 60 meters away! And to keep your levels in check, the H5 offers compressor and limiter. The H5's rubberized housing and suspension-mounted microphones minimize vibration and handling noise, while a low-cut filter helps eliminate wind noise and other types of low-frequency rumble. The H5 uses the same high-quality, low-noise preamps as our flagship H6, ensuring great-sounding recordings in all acoustic environments.
A MICROPHONE WITH SEVERAL RECORDING POSSIBILITIES
The pre-record function captures and records the two seconds of audio before pressing the record button – perfect for recording on the fly. The auto-record feature allows the H6 to automatically start and stop recording when a preset sound threshold is reached. The H5's Backup Record* feature automatically records a second pair of L/R tracks with 12 dB lower input gain. This audio safety net helps protect your recordings. * WAV files at 44.1 and 48 kHz only.
