this is the most "special" cymbal I've ever had! I don't know if all K Constantinople cymbals are made on the same model but the discovery is quite strange: mine is dark, dark, dark: very few harmonics, close to a dry sanded Byzance, but the ping remains clear and defined with a medium/low sound. when you crash it, it transforms into a kind of Chinese dragon but with a flat, voluminous sound, without shimmering, very dark. the bell remains piercing but not shrill. the hammered finish is quite exceptional when you contemplate its flexibility of undulations under the stick. maybe not a cymbal for beginners, as it requires a "cymbalistic ear" but a must in jazz bop / hard bop situations or in rock crash (this kind of sound can be found with steve jordan or cindy blackman). reserved for beast tamers!
