This recorder technique is aimed at advanced alto recorder players who are looking for material for consistent work on the fundamentals of their instrumental and musical skills. This technical work can be seen as a continuation of the two alto recorder volumes "Play and Fun with the Recorder," as the elements of a basic technique for the recorder addressed in the alto recorder school are continuously developed with a view to artistic recorder playing. In accordance with the original literature of the instrument, the exercises mainly refer to the alto recorder. Some technique chapters are to be practiced on both the alto and soprano recorder (in transposed fingering). The term "technique" should not be misunderstood: the goal of the exercises is ultimately artistic expression, inspiration, emotion, and sound design.
