The key point here is configuration freedom: the shell is delivered un-drilled. For clean drilling, it is recommended to use drill bits suited for hardwood, measure and verify the diameters required by your hardware beforehand, then drill precisely using a drilling template such as the Sparedrum LO16 or LO26 to correctly position future holes. The 6-ply construction (Maple-Beech-Maple) and 5.4 mm thickness offer an interesting compromise: enough rigidity for projection while maintaining flexibility for good dynamic response.
