The Fantom marks a distinct step in the Duesenberg universe with the adoption of a shorter scale (24.6" / 625 mm), providing a more immediate touch. The Series A embraces a more muscular identity: mahogany construction, ebony fingerboard, and a pair of humbuckers designed to deliver a high output level, with refined aesthetics (multi-layer Vintage Pearl binding, finishes with strong character).
The Duesenberg Fantom Series A is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a responsive electric guitar tailored for both stage and studio. It excels in rock, hard rock, punk, alternative, and all genres where a dense and present sound is sought, while still allowing the possibility to switch to rounder, singing textures on the neck pickup side. The Plek treatment enhances comfort with consistent playability across the entire neck.
The mahogany base (body, carved top, and neck) provides a full-bodied range, plenty of mids, and generous sustain, ideal for riffs and solos that hold. The ebony fingerboard adds a tighter attack, increased definition, and clearer highs, helping maintain precision even with gain. Regarding pickups, the Crunchbucker at the bridge pushes hard with effective bite for heavy rhythms, while the Grand Vintage at the neck delivers roundness and a vocal quality for leads. The electronics featuring Master Volume, Master Tone, and especially the Neck Preset Volume allow pre-setting a volume level for the neck pickup: perfect for balancing a solo, thickening a verse, or switching from a sharp bridge to a warmer neck tone without fumbling.
