For over 60 years, Cort has developed instruments known for their value for money. The X series embodies the sportier side of the lineup: modern lines, refined ergonomics, and a performance-driven spirit. With the X700 Triality, Cort takes the concept further by combining responsive craftsmanship (ash and maple) with Fishman Fluence electronics designed for guitarists who want to switch between styles without losing clarity.
The Cort X700 Triality is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a precise, fast, and expressive electric guitar. Its format and gear make it particularly comfortable in metal, modern rock, fusion, and shred, but its HSS configuration (humbucker + singles) also allows for punchier, more articulated tones suited to funk, pop, or detailed clean playing. The CFA-III tremolo adds real value for vibrato, effects, and dynamic playing.
The ash body promotes a crisp attack and good note definition, with tight lows and present highs, perfect for clean riffs and precise palm-muting. The 5-piece maple and walnut neck and maple fingerboard enhance the immediate response feel, with a bright upper spectrum and excellent note clarity, useful in both standard tuning and fast playing. On the electronics side, the Fishman Fluence set (two "Single Width" single-coils and one "Open Core Classic" humbucker) aims for very clean reproduction, solid string separation, and increased versatility. The push-pull volume and push-pull tone controls, combined with the 5-position selector, allow exploration of multiple textures without changing instruments, from crystalline cleans to thicker saturations.
To maintain the original feel, use a set of D'Addario EXL 120 strings (same gauge as factory setup). A pack of picks in various thicknesses is also a simple and reliable complement to adapt attack for both clean tones and heavy distortions.
