The Ernie Ball Music Man Cutlass guitar is the latest edition in the ever-expanding family of Ernie Ball Music Man instruments. Featuring the familiar shape and feel of previous Cutlass models, the Cutlass HT showcases the new Music Man pickup technology inspired by over a decade of guitar string research, delivering an incredibly dynamic and responsive playing experience. The pickups are capable of reaching very high output levels, with powerful bass response while maintaining a clear and distinct tone at lower volume levels. This set of three HT (Heat Treated) pickups uses patent-pending pole pieces and a large neodymium magnet that offers remarkable definition. The bridge pickup is overwound with ordinary enameled magnet wire for a strong and powerful tone, while the neck and middle pickups are underwound with heavy formvar magnet wire for a more traditional sound. All three pickups are designed to provide complementary tones across the five switching positions. Additionally, the electronics package includes a 20 dB boost function adjustable via push-push switch and a transparent buffer output for total tonal consistency regardless of volume setting. The Cutlass HT shares many standard features with the original Cutlass guitar, including a contoured alder body, roasted figured maple neck, 22 stainless steel frets, Schaller locking tuners, and a vintage Music Man tremolo.
