2024 model.
BECAUSE OF IT, EVERYTHING STARTED!
The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model Paul Reed Smith presented to the public at PRS Guitars' first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been continuously sold ever since. Played by internationally renowned artists, touring musicians, and musicians on the rise, the Custom 24 is equipped with the patented PRS Gen III tremolo system and 85/15 PRS pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-position switch. The 85/15 pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith to deliver remarkable clarity and an extended response in both bass and treble.
For 2024, PRS updates the tuners on several of its Core guitars. While aesthetically, our new Wing buttons are designed to echo the bird inlay wingspan on the 12th fret, they were primarily designed for sonic reasons, dating back to 1982. Because these buttons are lighter than their metal predecessors, they subtract less energy from the vibrating strings, allowing the guitar to resonate longer and more musically.
