The Custom 24 is the definitive PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the very first model Paul Reed Smith introduced to the public at PRS Guitars’ debut Winter NAMM show in 1985—and it has remained a best-seller ever since. Played by world-renowned artists, touring musicians, and aspiring players alike, the 2025 Custom 24 is equipped with PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo system and DMO pickups, along with volume and tone controls and a 5-way pickup selector switch.
The PRS DMO pickups (Dynamic, Musical, Open) deliver a highly open sound with a vocal-like character, offering rich tones across a wide frequency range—from lows to highs—in every position. These pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Product Engineering team. From in-depth research into the most coveted vintage pickup models to cutting-edge signal analysis and fine-tuning technology, these pickups reflect every detail of PRS’s years of innovation and development.
