Developed with David Grissom, it aims for a responsive, musical guitar that feels immediately familiar under the fingers. The McCarty Sunburst finish highlights the carved maple top set on a mahogany body: a classic recipe here optimized to offer consistent tonal balance, comfort, and true personality.
Designed for intermediate to expert musicians, the DGT responds to every subtle change in attack and volume adjustment. It excels in blues, rock, country, and fusion, and remains very credible in modern jazz thanks to its articulation and dynamic range. Its DGT neck profile (close to Pattern Regular) promotes smooth playing, both in precise rhythm and singing solos, with particularly pleasant intonation across the entire neck.
The two PRS DGT humbuckers offer a rich midrange grain, clear lows, and silky highs, with a "note that settles in" feel ideal for sustain and bends. The wiring with 2 independent volumes allows very fine balancing between pickups, and the push/pull tone control activates the coil split for more open and edgy colors, perfect for cutting rhythms or brighter arpeggios.
