The 2024 model, the PRS Modern Eagle V, continues the line of PRS guitars focused on innovation, designed to deliver immediately usable and musical tones. This version also updates a key element of the instrument's vibration: the lighter Phase III tuners with "Wing" buttons, which promote longer resonance and a livelier response. The result is a PRS Core guitar with a signature look and a decidedly modern design, finished in a particularly elegant Carroll Blue.
The Modern Eagle V is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists who want a single guitar capable of covering an entire set: defined clean tones, articulate crunch, singing leads, and thick rhythms. Thanks to its HSH architecture and splitting options, it excels in rock, pop, fusion, modern blues, funk, and session work, with solidbody ergonomics and a tremolo designed for expressive playing.
The acoustic foundation is based on a mahogany solidbody, which provides warmth, density in the low mids, and sustain, complemented by a carved maple top to add attack, precision, and brightness. The TCI pickups at the bridge and neck deliver a rich and balanced range, capable of going from modern grit to more classic colors, while the NS-01 in the middle position enhances clean tones and combined positions with great clarity. The 5-position selector structures the tones simply (bridge, bridge + middle, middle, middle + neck, neck), and the electronics push versatility further: the push/pull tone allows access to all three pickups simultaneously, and the two mini-switches provide targeted splits for additional single-coil-type timbres that are snappier and sharper.
The guitar comes factory-strung with 10-46 gauge strings, so you may want to have a set of 10-46 electric guitar strings to maintain the same comfort and tension. It is delivered with a case, ideal for transport and everyday protection.
