A major evolution in Focal's Alpha line


Designed to replace the first Alpha models, the "Evo" retains Focal's DNA while modernizing the formula: new Slatefiber driver designed and produced in France, bass-reflex design with rounded contours, and ergonomics updated for the contemporary studio. Compared to the previous generation, it notably adds the 6.35 mm TRS input, mounting inserts, a switchable standby mode, and optimized dynamic headroom for better performance at high levels.

Who is it for and what are its uses?


The Alpha 65 Evo is ideal for nearfield listening for mixing, editing, and production in home studios as well as post-production suites. Its extended response from 40 Hz to 22 kHz and neutrality facilitate decisions on balance, equalization, and element placement, while its SPL level allows comfortable listening without fatigue during long sessions.

Amplification and controlled dynamics


The Class D bi-amplification dedicated to each driver guarantees high current capacity and precise woofer control. The result: clear transients, clean and controlled lows, and a stable image even at high volume. The bass-reflex enclosure combined with the Slatefiber cone ensures fast and textured bass reproduction, useful for judging kicks, basses, and subharmonics.

Simplified integration and room adaptation


The triple connectivity of XLR, RCA, and TRS facilitates integration with all types of audio interfaces. The "low-cut" and "high-cut" equalization filters allow spectral balance adjustment depending on placement (near a wall, on a desk, wall-mounted, or ceiling-mounted). The automatic standby mode, which can be disabled, optimizes power consumption without interrupting workflow.

Bought initially for the aesthetics.. But being a big fan of the brand I knew where I was putting my feet.. Absolutely not disappointed with my purchase! Exceptional clarity in the highs for an entry-level product.. It is not finished breaking in, but already shows quite an interesting potential in the lows with no auditory fatigue. And I only bought one to test, suffice to say the 2nd one will arrive quickly. Bought with eyes closed. The only complaint is this famous blue membrane which is not really blue, it's more black gray... but still very beautiful!
