After using several amp brands: MesaBoogie Studio 22, Fender Twin, Marshall JCM 900, Marshall JCM 2000, Laney IronHeart 60, BlackStar Studio 50... I was tired of carrying heavy and unreliable gear (tubes)... Playing many small venues, small stages and some large ones, I needed a versatile amp that sounds good and has enough power to perform in all conditions. I think I found the gem. The pros: the sound: 2 channels, the crystal clear clean channel reminiscent of Fender and can be warm for transistor, you can go from funk to jazz, the dynamics are there, the sound is very beautiful. Takes pedals very well. The saturated channel: we won't do metal, but you can sound like ZZ Top, Santana or venture into jazz fusion. The equalization is very usable, the knobs really allow sculpting the sound. For both channels, the sound is very powerful, with just one 12-inch speaker cabinet, it's very very powerful, you have to turn it down to be usable in pubs. The cons: on reception I was scared, the knobs crackled, after browsing forums I saw others had the issue. These crackles quickly diminished, maybe bad storage? The reverb is so-so, usable up to 2 or 3 then it drowns the sound. Conclusion: A great amp for those who tour and don't have roadies to carry the gear :) My back says thanks! Very powerful. Usable for pop or jazz dance halls. For rockers, there are other models in the range. In my setup, I mic the amp and don't use the line out.
