Designed by our team in Sonoma, CA, the U-File reduces fret height, effectively eliminating buzz. Our unique U-shaped design slides under the string for optimal file placement and uses a wide diamond-coated file to quickly and efficiently lower fret height and level them to match adjacent frets.
With or without strings, place the tool on 3 frets with the fret to be worked on in the middle and file up or down or side to side. Designed to work with all electric guitars, acoustic guitars, banjos, mandolins, and ukuleles. Works for all bass frets except the first 5 frets closest to the nut.
Our low-profile neck allows you to get closer to the fretboard and file comfortably and with control in any direction, depending on the situation. The notches on top and arrows on the side indicate the location of the diamond-coated filing area.
Each set includes 3 sizes: 1.25" (3.2 cm), 2" (5.1 cm), and 3" (7.6 cm) and a convenient storage pouch with a hanging hole. Each U-File also includes a hanging hole.
Precisely made from 0.059" (1.50 mm) thick stainless steel and hand-flattened (+/- 0.00125"/ft) to meet strict specifications and prevent warping. Use it with confidence, all edges are deburred and/or rounded for a smooth feel.
