Description
The M 49 has held a natural place in the shortlist of genre icons for over 70 years. For many reasons, it is an inseparable part of the Neumann DNA. With this new revision, its owners can now decide to extend the bass sensitivity and lower the frequency of the high-pass filter, from the original 30 Hz to an incredible 12 Hz – a tribute to the culture modern listening and recording. Another option comes from the classic circuit and allows users to switch the microphone to a fixed cardioid polar pattern (which is the most used setting anyway). This increases sensitivity by 2dB and reduces the equivalent noise level by 3dB. This setting brings even more magic and intimacy from the M 49, especially when recording speech or vocals. Please note that these two options cannot be changed by customers. They are made to order (BTO for "built to order").
