Whose, Kreutzer, Rode: here are united under one title three of the most outstanding violin pedagogues of the nineteenth century. Rodolphe Kreutzer and Pierre Rode signed at the beginning of the nineteenth century, collections of studies, each of which was a landmark (see HN 1177 and HN 1186); As a preparation for these two standard works, Jakob Dont wrote in 1852 his very valuable works. 37, to which no violinist escapes. Their success also appears in the fact that in the 20th century many new arrangements of violinists such as Hans Sitt, Carl Flesch or Ivan Galamian were published. The urtext version of the G. Henle Editions now renders accessible for the first time the non-falsified original, featuring authentic fingerings and bows, in a perfectly legible musical impression. World-class violinist Paul Roczek, who is also a much sought-after teacher, accompanied this edition by checking his achievement, and carefully completed Dont's fingering.
